"For those of us in university outreach, our most useful contribution is probably to serve as "connecter and catalyst" with the goal of increasing the community’s capacity to successfully address problems on its own."

K-12 Presentations

Connecting institutional resources to students, teachers, schools and community organizations, and serving as a catlyst for them to develop the means to address issues has proven to be an effective paradigm throughout my career.  The extensive use of multimedia resources bolsters that impact.  Below are examples of my use of mainstream media outlets (television and newspapers), and direct audience presentations (to Alabama high school students and teachers and Auburn faculty) to advance programs and services.  The newspaper articles reflect my current initiatives in K-12 STEM education, cross-cultural education (this story went national via the Associated Press and was presented in newspapers from Maine to Oregon) and an archived account of my founding of a high school service learning program, The Volunteer Corps.
