Creating alternative visions through outreach services

Since 1986 I have had the privilege and freedom to design, develop and implement innovative schools and programs that help educational institutions express their relationship to the world they serve.  Many of these  innovations occurred under the auspices of the San Diego County Office of Education in conjunction with dozens of  collaborative organizations.  These innovations, implemented throughout San Diego county included The Volunteer Corps service learning program, the School-to-Career project and The Academies thematic schools.  Since 2008, as a member of the faculty at Auburn University, my quest to support innovation has continued with a focus on outreach.  As the founding developer of the Cultural Insight Program  I have forged a collaboration between Auburn University and Culture Bump, Inc. to enhance cross-cultural communication locally, nationally and internationally.  Most recently I joined forces with Maths and Science Marketing, a South African-based organization dedicated to bringing high impact math and science e-learning to disenfranchised K-12 students and teachers throughout the world.

The common thread has been utilizing outreach to assist others in the creation and attainment of alternative visions for their personal lives and the life of their communities.
